Hi,
My name is Lee Hanlon and I'm a clearance coordinator for Film and Television in Toronto, Ontario.
Working with various networks such as HBO, Netflix, CBS and more, I have gained a wide variety of skills and experience in the world of copyright clearance and licensing.
A fellow colleague brought you to my attention. I would love to become a part of the VRSC! Here I could hopefully gain some new insight into the world visual clearance as well as share my relevant experience and knowledge.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Best,

About My Work
Researcher, archive producer, copyright specialist and librarian. I have 20 years experience with visual and editorial research, copyright administration and clearances for footage, stills, music and talent. As information resources manager at Pyramid Productions, I enjoyed research for development, editorial and visual research and copyright clearances for a variety of projects, including documentary films and television, books and an award-winning TV movie. Credits include: A&E Biography, Ian Tyson: Songs from the Gravel Road, Theo Fleury: Playing with Fire, Curveball: W.P. Kinsella, The Film Festival Project and In a World Created by a Drunken God.
My latest documentary film project, Undetectable: How Stigma Has Gone Viral in the Fight Against HIV, was shown at the Calgary and Edmonton international film festivals and at the LGBT Toronto Film Festival, where it won the audience award for best short film. “Shely Henry was our archival producer, and scoured countless resources to find and clear the archival footage and images seen in the film. A talented archival producer is key in historical documentaries!” (Laura O’Grady, Undetectable Director, https://www.booooooom.com/2022/01/03/undetectable-interview-laura-ogrady/)
I am a resourceful and creative problem solver who enjoys a challenge. I love finding special visual content that helps tell the story.

About My Work
My main area of training is in archives and historical moving images and media. For the past ten years, I have worked with various institutions and formats and am currently the archival researcher for the CBC show "Still Standing". Other projects include long-form television series for the Discovery Network (true crime), numerous documentaries for the History Channel and OMNI television (WWII, Canadian military) and smaller projects including museum exhibits, commercials and awards shows such as the Canadian Screen Awards.
