About My Work
I am a non-practising lawyer working in Toronto as a researcher on documentary and fictional film projects. I started doing this work in March 2018. Thus far I have worked with producer Alison Duke on the upcoming CBC POV doc Mr Jane & Finch and producer Julie Baldassi on the webseries Book of Dog. Currently I'm working with producer Christine Kleckner on a project in development with CBC POV entitled WEATHERING. As I am emerging in this field, it would be extremely helpful to be a member of a professional group that supports others working in the field. In addition to my legal background I have archival research experience after having worked on the Lord Dalhousie Project for Dalhousie University which took me to London, Scotland and Ottawa in order to complete independent archival work at national archive institutions.

About My Work
Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University, in collaboration with George Eastman House, Rochester, NY. The research aspect of this program segued into her working as a freelance visual researcher, most notably, providing image research to Historica Canada’s flagship project, The Canadian Encyclopedia. Previously, she provided image research for Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art as Newsbriefs Editor for their internationally acclaimed semi-annual magazine dedicated to photo and video art. As a freelance visual researcher, Jennifer promptly responds to inquiries by researching the requested theme or subject and contacting artists, stock agencies, institutions and archives, among other sources. She further secures visual materials by negotiating licensing terms and securing copyright, and delivering final images to clients in a timely manner.
