Since July 2017, I have started gaining experience as a visual researcher through my Media Researcher role at TVO on the Independent Learning Centre (ILC)'s Course Conversion Project team. For more information about my professional experience and educational background, please visit my webpage: https://bridgettekelly.weebly.com/ -Applies TVO General Counsel’s interpretation of the Canadian Copyright Act to limit copyright violation risk while curating robust, high quality multimedia course content. -Negotiates rates with external agencies to license or clear rights for the use of video clips, images, and stills. -Researches and obtains copyright clearance for visual material and provide general guidance to staff on copyright law and related procedures. -Gather copyright information and descriptive metadata for visual materials in a spreadsheet and prepares required documents for approval by manager. -Conducts bilingual research to curate interdisciplinary multimedia course material when Instructional Designers are unable to find suitable content for French versions of courses or require assistance completing content curation to meet course translation deadlines.
