About My Work:
I am an experienced researcher and archivist with a demonstrated history of working in library, cultural heritage and gallery settings. I am skilled in archival standards and procedures, collections care and preservation, history of photography, research methods, curatorial projects and digital preservation management. Some of my research interests include photographic practices of the late Ottoman Empire and exploring how community archives make possible the transmission and preservation of collective memory and history. I received my BA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver (2014), and completed my MA in Film and Photography Preservation and Collections Management at Ryerson University, (Toronto) in 2017. I have held positions and residencies at the Ryerson Image Centre (Toronto), the New York Public Library (New York City) and the Doris McCarthy Gallery (Toronto). I am currently the Outreach & Digital Archives Officer at the Multicultural History Society of Ontario (Toronto) where I am working on converting and digitizing archival materials from the Society’s collections and uploading these materials to the Society's online repository.
